MG is a brand now associated with the budget end of the car market, but it might be veering back into its previous stomping ground, which was zippy little sports jobs. The company has just released a handful of images of a concept car called the Cyberster that looks like it might attract rather more attention on Sheikh Zayed Road than the brand’s current line-up. Modern, it certainly looks, and this offering would be fully electric if it was manufactured. MG says this is “a totally new and futuristic take on traditional sports cars, with its smart cockpit, mobile internet functionality and pure-electric technology”. The British-born car marque’s roadster concept showcases the brand’s approach to cutting-edge intelligent driving products, the marketing men and women say. Bring it on, if it’s indicative of what MG is to produce in the future, the rest of us say. No word on when something of this sort will hit Gulf shores, but MG’s parent company SAIC sees the Middle East as one of its core markets, so it’s a cert that when this concept morphs into a real vehicle, we won’t have to wait too long for its arrival.
