LIVERPOOL // Jaguar Land Rover will shed a further 300 jobs by the end of this year at its Halewood factory on Merseyside, as the loss-making car maker struggles to cope with falling consumer demand. The job losses relate to the largely unloved X-Type saloon which will cease production earlier than anticipated. With this latest round of cuts, Jaguar has made more than 2,000 workers redundant since the economic slowdown began. Jaguar has also announced plans to temporarily shut the Merseyside plant for a period in September this year.
