FORT LAUDERDALE // A pair of 1966 Ford Mustangs once owned by Sonny and Cher have been put up for auction. They will be sold at a "Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale" event in February by RM Auctions.
The Mustangs were customised by George Barris at Ford's expense in the 1960s and then used for publicity purposes. The cars appeared in the musical duo's only feature film, Good Times.
While the Mustangs have changed hands several times since the 1960s, they have recently been restored to their original condition. Cher's former car is finished in hot pink paint, while Sonny's was sprayed in gold pearl and has a Bobcat fur interior.
