A small but star-studded affair took place in Dubai this Diwali. Malayalam film star Mohanlal was spotted ringing in the festival of lights with Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and his family at an intimate function in City Walk. Mohanlal posted a picture of the gathering, where he and his friend Sameer Hamsa are casually dressed and Dutt and his wife in colour-coordinated traditional attire. Maanayata, Dutt's wife, has also shared glimpses of the evening on Instagram, with one video showing them all listening to the song Main Shayar Toh Nahi together. Dutt has visited Dubai with his family a number of times in the past few months after receiving treatment for cancer in Mumbai. Meanwhile, Mohanlal is reported to have flown to Dubai to catch the IPL finals which were held on November 10. The religious festival symbolising the victory of good over evil, fell on Saturday, November 14 this year. Celebrations have been different, with families eschewing large gatherings in favour of more intimate ceremonies and family get-togethers. Nonetheless, it was still a special affair as most took to lighting diyas, decking up in Diwali splendour and spending time with loved ones. Here’s a look at how more Bollywood stars celebrated the festival of lights: The Bollywood actress, who has been spending a lot of time in Dubai while husband Virat Kohli was playing at the IPL, got “all dressed up to sit at home and eat”. The actress who is currently seven months pregnant added that “it was great” and wished her fans a beautiful Diwali. She also posted Instagram stories of the decorations which included hand sanitisers surrounded by flowers. “The times we are living in” she said on the post. Meanwhile, the Indian cricketer shared a video of himself wishing his fans a happy Diwali. He urged fans not to burst fireworks and to “protect the environment”, and instead asked them to have fun with loved ones with simple diyas. The Quantico star shared a picture of herself in a floral sari along with husband Nick Jonas, as they both held diyas. "Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating. From our family to yours," she captioned the photo. The Bollywood actor wished his fans well along with a picture of himself in a kurta. “Stay safe,” he added in the post. The Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai star has shared a video wishing his fans a Happy Diwali, and urged them to stay safe and to take care of the safety of others as well this festive season. The Indian actor and model shared a picture of himself and his wife Ankita Konwar in their traditional best, holding diyas and posing next to a rangoli pattern. "Happy Diwali, people. Think good, speak good, do good," the star posted on Twitter.
