Samsung BTS phone: orders of K-pop model now open in the UAE

The special bundle comes with a discount on the matching set of BTS ear buds

BTS fans in the UAE will be glad to hear the Samsung smartphone inspired by their favourite K-pop band will be available in the Emirates.

Orders in the Emirates are now open for the special Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G and Galaxy Buds+ BTS Edition, with delivery set to take place between July 6 to 12.

“BTS is a band that truly shares Galaxy’s ‘do what you can’t’ brand philosophy," said Osman Albora, head of the mobile division, Samsung Gulf Electronics. "Besides breaking cultural and language barriers overseas, they have reshaped the way pop culture is consumed."

The device comes in a funky purple colour and has the band's logo on the glass casing. It is priced at Dh3,799 for the 128GB version through www.samsung.com/ae.

Customers who purchase the Galaxy S20+5G BTS Edition will get 50 per cent off on the BTS Galaxy Buds+, while the box comes with photo cards featuring pictures of the band members and decorative stickers to allow fans to further personalise their devices.

The BTS edition of the phone reportedly sold out in less than an hour in South Korea, although Samsung have not confirmed how many units were initially made available.

The announcement by the official Samsung Mobile Twitter account was said to be the electronic company's most reshared and favourited tweet ever.

Samsung launched its S20 flagship series – which consists of three phones (S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra) – in the Middle East in March.

The S20 Ultra, with a 17.5 centimetre screen, has four cameras on the rear. Weighing only 220 grams, its starting price is set at Dh4,499. The S20+ (Dh3,599) has a 17cm screen and the standard S20 (Dh3,199) has a 15.7cm display.
