Buy your own Palm Jumeirah beachfront neighbourhood in Dubai - in pictures

Most of us don't get to choose who are neighbours are and often it can lead to a nasty discovery when you find out they're just not your type.

But if you're hunting for a big new home, have a budget which would potentially put you on the path to the Forbes richest list, and crave your own enclave then this new option on Dubai's Palm Jumeirah might be the one for you.

The exclusive horse-shoe shaped compound, on the Palm's I Frond, comes with five separate villas meaning you could pick and choose your neighbours, or even move your whole family in.

Such privacy - it is surrounded by sea and sand on three sides - comes at a cost of Dh175 million.

The compound, being marketed by LuxuryProperty.com, lies at the end of a private road that branches off from the Palm's trunk and has a gated entrance, which leads to a paved and landscaped concourse.

The buyer will obtain approximately 60,000 sq ft across the development, 26 bedrooms and enviable views of Atlantis The Palm.

A sharp angular facade, Italian travertine exterior cladding, marble flooring in the main living areas and full-height windows are some of the key features, plus an outdoor pool and garden complete with gazebo. The villas are all orientated so that the bedrooms have views over the sea

The interiors are open to complete customisation, although the kitchens come equipped with Bosch appliances and the bathrooms have fixtures by Bagno Design.

For those used to the luxury of home automation, that is in place, as is a security system that includes CCTV cameras.

Three trading apps to try

Sharad Nair recommends three investment apps for UAE residents:

  • For beginners or people who want to start investing with limited capital, Mr Nair suggests eToro. “The low fees and low minimum balance requirements make the platform more accessible,” he says. “The user interface is straightforward to understand and operate, while its social element may help ease beginners into the idea of investing money by looking to a virtual community.”
  • If you’re an experienced investor, and have $10,000 or more to invest, consider Saxo Bank. “Saxo Bank offers a more comprehensive trading platform with advanced features and insight for more experienced users. It offers a more personalised approach to opening and operating an account on their platform,” he says.
  • Finally, StashAway could work for those who want a hands-off approach to their investing. “It removes one of the biggest challenges for novice traders: picking the securities in their portfolio,” Mr Nair says. “A goal-based approach or view towards investing can help motivate residents who may usually shy away from investment platforms.”
