The Jewellery and Watch Show (JWS) is set to return to the UAE this October. Running from October 26 to 30, the event will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Now in its 28th year, the 2021 iteration also marks the show's return to the season's events calendar, after last year's event was cancelled owing to the pandemic. Spanning five days, visitors will once again be able to browse through more than 140 brands from around the world, with timepieces and jewellery that aim to appeal to seasoned collectors, as well as those looking for something suitable for everyday wear. “After a hiatus of one year, we are delighted to see the return of the hugely popular Jewellery and Watch Show in Abu Dhabi," said Firas Abu Ltaif, event manager at JWS. Explaining that curators have “selected the most disparate brands stemming from all parts of the world", Abu Ltaif said this year's show would feature “unique pieces, as well as never-seen-before items", that would appeal to both newcomers and connoisseurs alike. To highlight the talent of the region, there will be a dedicated area for Emirati makers, with the finest pieces showcased in an exhibition at the Emirati Design Gallery. Featuring both modern designs and more traditional bridal pieces in gold, it promises to deliver a dazzling array. To further boost regional creatives, the event is also running the Ebda'a Award, with the winner named in October by Emirati jewellery artist, sculptor and product designer Azza Al Qubaisi. Held under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, registration to attend is free and visitors will receive a digital gift bag, filled with exclusive offers.
