In the latest round of its 'Time Well Shared' initiative, the Swiss watch house IWC Schaffhausen has brought together a unique group of famous faces to read the acclaimed literary tale The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. Each celebrity has been tasked with reading one chapter. It will begin with Indian actress Sonam Kapoor, before passing on to Lebanese-British TV presenter Raya Abirached, Tunisian actress Hend Sabry, Italian actor Pierfrancesco Favino and Chinese actor Zhang Ruo Yun, among others. One of the world's best-loved books, The Little Prince has been translated into more languages than any other. It is a poignant and beautiful tale of a young prince searching through the planets. Dealing with topics such as loneliness, isolation, friendship and love, this story is as apt today as when it was written in 1942. With the author's homeland of France under occupation by the German army, de Saint-Exupery was forced to flee to America, where he had to face many of the issues that appear in the book. Olivier d'Agay, the author's great-nephew and director of the Antoine de Saint Exupery Youth Foundation, said: "I am honoured that IWC chose The Little Prince for this reading initiative. "This moving story about friendship, love and the essence of humanity has always bridged cultures and united people across borders and generations.” The reading will take place live on IWC Schaffhausen's Instagram account on Tuesday, April 21 at 5pm UAE time.
