Instagram is set to launch a new feature allowing users to give thanks to those helping fight the coronavirus pandemic. Launching at 7pm today, Instagram’s “Thank You Hour” will give people the chance to show their appreciation to friends, family and members of their community using a new sticker developed by the photo-sharing app. Anyone who posts a story using the sticker will see their post appear in a special story thread, found at the front of the story queue, between the hours of 7pm and 8pm each day. You will be able to see all the thank you posts from people you follow collated in one place, as a way to pay tribute to all those on the frontline of the battle against coronavirus. The initiative follows on from the app’s Stay Home sticker campaign, which launched in March. The sticker will launch on Saturday, April 11 in selected countries around the world, including the UAE, and will be expanded over the coming days. “From healthcare workers, essential workers, small businesses, to the friends, family and at-home activities that keep you energised, we hope this is a small, but meaningful way to shine a light on what you’re grateful for right now,” a spokesperson for Instagram said.
