India's richest family prepare for Akash Ambani's lavish Mumbai wedding

Maroon 5 are said to be performing at the couple's sangeet

It's been a big year for the Ambani family. December saw the wedding of Isha Ambani and her childhood friend Anand Piramal, in what has been dubbed as one of the most lavish Indian weddings in history. And now, it's the turn of her twin brother Akash.

Akash will wed fiancé Shloka Mehta in March in a celebration set to be equally as impressive. Akash, whose father Mukesh Ambani is India's richest man, is set to host his bachelor party in Switzerland ahead of the ceremony in Mumbai.

Final preparations are well underway, and, according to a source close to the family, the couple have booked American band Maroon 5 to perform at their sangeet. Both Akash and Shloka are said to be big fans of the band, fronted by Adam Levine, and have managed to book them for the traditional pre-wedding celebration.

It wouldn't be the first time the family have roped in a major star to perform. Beyonce was the star guest at Isha's sangeet back in December, performing an intimate setlist for the couple's close friends and family.

Akash and Shloka will marry on March 9.
