There’s something inexplicably exciting about getting a glimpse inside a celebrity’s home. Grainy background footage through Zoom chats over the past few months has been a great start, but now fans can get an in-depth tour of actor Anil Kapoor's sprawling house in Juhu, Mumbai. Two of the Slumdog Millionaire actor's children – producer Rhea Kapoor and actor Harshvardhan Kapoor – filmed a special Meri Wali Home Story (My Type of Home Story) video for Raksha Bandhan, in a bid to "relive old memories and motivate us to make new ones." Raksha Bandhan is an Indian festival that celebrates the bond between a brother and sister. "Growing up with siblings is one of the greatest blessings in life. They are our first best friends and the foes we can't live without. The most beautiful aspect of the sibling relation, however, is that no matter how old you grow, how distant you stay, and how busy or stressed you are, even the thought of being with your sibling(s) in the safety of your house takes all the stress away. It is one of the most refreshing and overwhelming feelings," Rhea captioned the four-minute-long Instagram video. She starts the tour with a look at the airy living room, which she describes as an "informal living room, workroom, den and bar combined." The space features floor-to-ceiling windows, through which you can get a glimpse of greenery outside. It appears cosy, is filled with framed pictures of the family and is the "heart of the house", Rhea says, as it is where they have meals and get-togethers. “On that table me and my dad used to read together. It’s things like this that you have sentimental value for,” Harshvardhan says. He also shows viewers his room, which is across the hall from Rhea’s. Meanwhile, Rhea’s room, which she refers to as her "haven", is decorated in a calming white. "My greatest memories in the room are spending time with Sonam and my greatest conversations with my family have happened in this room," she reminisces, referring to her sister, actress Sonam Kapoor. What’s a film star family without a room dedicated to movies? Harshvardhan then takes viewers through the movie room, complete with a projector and an enviable collection of DVDs that he has been collecting since he was a teenager. He says it's a multipurpose room that his mother, Sunita Kapoor, also does yoga in. Another clear sign that this is a celebrity home? It features a room exclusively for clothes. Formerly a guest room, it was converted into a "dressing room or glam room". "It was my mother's idea," Rhea says, before sharing more childhood memories about her siblings. "It’s our home that has helped us, as kids, stay glued to each other, and has actually become the foundation for the bond we have today,” Rhea concludes.
