This has been a pretty good year for Rob Ryan. The London-based artist's beautifully intricate papercut designs are now so popular that, in addition to limited-edition screen prints, which cost from about US$400 (Dh1,470) and sell out almost as quickly as he can make them in his little shop-cum-studio, they can now be seen on everything from mugs and teatowels to the pages of Vogue and the window display of top London department store Liberty. His collaboration with the craft experts Clothkits means you can not only own a Rob Ryan design, but also have the satisfaction that you've made it yourself.
This clever little kit, which contains printed fabric, lining fabric, thread labels and instructions for construction, allows you to make either one or two very cool, covetable cushions or a lined bag - a simple project that even a sewing novice could complete in a couple of hours.
