Do you have two hours to spare next Friday or Saturday, October 21 and 22?

If so, the Dubai-based breast cancer support group Brest Friends, together with the Craft Land store in Jumeirah, is looking for volunteers to staff a 24-hour sewing production line making speciality cushions and bags to help breast cancer patients in the UAE stay active and recuperate in comfort as their bodies recover from surgery.

While machine sewing skills would be helpful (Brother machines will be provided and sold off for charity later), they are not essential, since other jobs such as cutting and stuffing will also need to be done. Alternatively, just go along for support and check out Arte Souk, which is also taking place in aid of the cause.

Sewing runs from 10am to 10pm on both days (Arte Souk will be open from 12pm-7pm). To sign up, email your name and number to [e-mail] or call Craft Land in Town Centre Jumeirah (next to Mercato Mall).
