It’s that time of year again when Dubai’s South African community turn out in force at Emirates Golf Club in their casual get-up to celebrate heritage day the best way they know how — by putting some meat on the braai.
House of Afrika’s South African Braai (BBQ) Heritage Day Celebration will feature a host of South Africa’s finest entertainment including aKING and Dan Patlansky. Comedian Paul Snodgrass will be hosting and performing at the festivities as well.
It is a “bring-and-braai” event which in South African means bring your own meat and barbecue it yourself. But don’t despair, those who don’t actually want to do that but still want to indulge, there will be a braai inspired menu for you.
The day is family-friendly which means there will be lots of activities for the kids. To ensure a comfy spot for yourself on the lawn it is advisable to bring umbrellas and picnic rugs.
To end the night there will be a House of Afrika after-party at Emirates Golf Club Media Room featuring DJ Eugenics from Cape Town with support by Charl Chaka, De Caf & James Justin. If you have your SA Braai wristband entrance is free otherwise it is Dh50 with a free drink included. See the event's Facebook page for more details.
