Dubai has a slew of restaurants with the names of well-known chefs attached to them: Giorgio Locatelli's Locanda Locatelli, Nobu at Atlantis, Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant, Indego by Vineet (Bhatia) and Stay by Yannick Alleno are the first of a fair few that spring to mind. Apart from Marco Pierre White's Steakhouse & Grill, which has been open at the Fairmont for some time, Abu Dhabi has remained celebrity chef free - until now that is. Gary Rhodes already has two restaurants in Dubai (Rhodes Mezzanine and the steakhouse Rhodes Twenty 10) and it was recently announced that he would be setting up camp in the capital at the St.Regis. Rhodes 44 will apparently serve an intriguing mix of contemporary food with an Arabian twist and will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We will post more information (opening dates etc) as and when we have it.
