This week marks the opening of two new luxury hotel on The Palm Jumeirah in Dubai — the Viceroy and Dukes Dubai — which means a selection of new restaurant and cafe offerings.
The Viceroy, which officially opened its doors over the weekend, has five dining venues to choose from with cuisines from around the world. Blvd On One, led by executive chef Robert Nilsson, is its signature brasserie restaurant. It serves fusion dishes that “sees Sweden meet India and China meet Africa”.
In addition, there is an Asian restaurant called Maiden Shanghai serving up a modern Cantonese menu; an Italian restaurant, Quattro Passi; a sweets outlet, The Delisserie, and The Spa Cafe, which is located on the rooftop of the spa and serves healthy concoctions including juices and smoothies.
Not too far away is the much-anticipated Dukes Dubai, which is a property that brings a certain British charm to the emirate.
Serving modern British brasserie-style cuisine, the hotel’s signature outlet Great British Restaurant (GBR) is helmed by executive chef Martin Cahill. The menu includes cod and chips, Lancashire hot pot, Colchester oysters and Dover sole.
For lighter bites and drinks, guests can head to Dukes Bar, which is famed for its drink selection, or check out the award-winning Manhattan style grill and bar, West 14th, or Khyber a North Indian restaurant which is part of the existing development. There are also separate tea and cigar lounges for those wishing to stay around a while.
