With Ramadan set to conclude this weekend, the next few days are your last chance to check some of the big lush Ramadan tents around the country.
Those looking for a positively regal experience, should go no further than the Mamemo Majlis at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai.
The two story facility, located deep in the bowels of the new hotel in Jumeirah, is simply stunning with its modern furniture and contemporary Arabesque designs.
Overlooking Jumeirah Beach, the glass walled tent can host up to 300 people, yet on a busy day — in which I attended — it never felt too stuffy or rowdy.
On the culinary front, the majlis boasts an impressive array of mocktails. My favourites being the refreshing Healthy Green (fresh celery, cucumber, apple and mint syrup) and the delicious Date Colada (dates, coconut, syrup, cream and pine apple juice).
Caffeine lovers will also enjoy the Espresso Mint Cooler (espresso, mint syrup, cream and milk) - make sure to ask for a double shot from the attentive staff if you need that extra kick.
When it comes to the food, the menu focused on Middle Eastern favourites - some with a gourmet twist. The avocado moutabal was smooth with the aubergines adding an extra tang, while the grilled halloumi exhibited none of the grainy after taste that comes when its not cooked well.
While we skipped desert (the Date Colada took care of that), the menu also boasts some mouth watering options - I left after staring longingly at the caramel coconut ice cream bar.
An elegant affair, suhour at the Mamemo Majlis is a treat for those looking for something upscale yet comfortable.
