Latin food, grooves and moves at Dubai’s BNF’s new dinner and dance class concept

Nimble-footed diners are invited to strut their stuff with free Latin dance lessons every night of the week.

Dubai dance school BNF has teamed up with Mexican restaurant O Cacti to offer customers the chance to burn off some post-dinner calories, with a series of themed tutorials and dance parties.

Each night of the week showcases a different tradition or form of dance, from salsa to samba, mambo to merengue, and kizomba to reggaeton.

All levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced, with lessons hosted by BNF’s in-house pros.

Once a month things climax with a one-off themed party showcasing professional dancers, live Latin bands, DJs and raffles, alongside private and group lessons.

The first monthly bash takes place on Friday July 29 from 10pm, and is a Summer White Party, with an accompanying (“not mandatory”) dress code.

Entry and dance classes at all events, including the monthly parties, is entirely free – customers just pay for the food and drink consumed on the night.

The themed weekly nights are: Cuban mambo (Sunday), kizomba (Monday), Salsa lessons at a “Dancing Ladies Night” (Tuesday), Brazilian samba and Colombian salsa (Wednesday), “Latino Commercial” including bachata lessons and a flamenco show (Thursday); plus reggaeton lessons and a cumbia spectacle at “Columbian Friday” and salsa lessons and a cha-cha-cha show at “Saturday Night Latin Fever”.

• O Cacti is located at Pier 7, Dubai Marina Mall. Reservations 04 452 6699.
