Dubai Foodie News: celebrate UK’s National Burger Day this weekend, mushroom month at Armani and more



• If you still need plans for tonight (August 27), the Ripe Food and Craft Market will pop up on the 3rd floor of the Burjuman Mall from 5pm to 10pm. The night market will appear once a month in Burjuman from now through October. At the market, you'll find organic groceries and produce, superfoods, jewellery, kids' items and a range of crafts and goods from local artisans and local businesses. • The D&A (Dhow & Anchor) British gastropub at Jumeirah Beach Hotel will celebrate the United Kingdom’s National Burger Day (August 27) all weekend long. For three days, burger lovers can dig into a burger, house cut chips and a select beverage for Dh95. And these aren’t just your everyday burgers. Try the bone marrow burger topped with seared foie gras and a fried organic hen’s egg. The promotion is available August 27 — 29. For reservations, call 04 366 5866.

• If you love mushrooms, book a table at Armani Ristorante in Dubai this September for a six-course tasting menu celebrating the mushroom as an essential ingredient. On the menu: a black Angus tartare with wild mushroom and roasted scallops with celeriac mushrooms and truffles. There's even a mushroom crème brûlée. Nightly in September from 7pm to 11pm. • Zheng He, the modern Chinese restaurant located in Jumeirah Mina A’Salam, will re-open in mid-September after a complete restyling of the interior. The restaurant will also launch its new à la carte menu, featuring classic Chinese dishes served with a contemporary twist. There will be an increased focus on fresh seafood and the restaurant will now employ a resident duck master specialist. Highlights on the menu include: a new Chinese interpretation of the restaurant’s popular wasabi prawns, slow-cooked Oriental short ribs and a salt-baked Fortune Beggar chicken.
