What better way to sample a new restaurant than at Jumeirah Restaurant Week? The annual food festival kicks off on Thursday, May 14 and promises 10 days of dining experiences at 42 eateries in Jumeirah hotels and stand-alone Jumeirah Restaurant Group outlets.
From casual-dining haunts such as The Noodle House and ET Sushi, to upmarket venues such as Pierchic in Al Qasr – one of Dubai’s most refined establishments – each restaurant will offer a special, discounted menu.
This year, they are divided into four price tiers, each offering three-course meals for Dh95, Dh120, Dh180 or Dh370 per person. Pierchic’s set menu, for example, costs Dh370 per person (average main courses on their regular menu are priced at Dh240 and above).
Chris Lester, the group executive chef for Jumeirah Restaurant Group Dubai, says the chefs are eager to showcase their food to a wider audience.
“It allows our chefs to demonstrate their talents,” says Lester. “To be creative with the specially designed dishes on each menu and deliver a unique epicurean adventure. The menus will offer the best from each restaurant, whether it is a signature dish, seasonal item or dish specifically made for the week.
“Eating out is such a large part of the local culture that we believe foodies will respond well to the choice and variety. The different menu tiers encourage diners to explore new cuisines and new restaurants.
The week is designed to highlight Jumeirah’s culinary talent and originality as well as create excitement around dining out in the UAE, building on the country’s growing reputation as a culinary hub.”
