Deliveroo service down as app stops working around the world

Anyone wanting to order from Deliveroo will be in for a long wait, as the service is currently down around the globe.

Both Deliveroo's app and website are currently experiencing technical difficulties, bringing up an error message for anyone trying to order.

The problems are reported to have started just after 12pm, prompting Deliveroo to release a statement on the issue. In a tweet, the company said: “Currently having some difficulties. We're working to be back on.”

Several people who ordered prior to the outage have been tweeting their frustrations, but it seems to be causing particular distress in Australia, where people are waiting for their Friday night takeaways.

One users wrote: "It's a rainy Friday night in Sydney, where is my pizza?". Another added: "We need a full refund! My partner is down at the restaurant trying to track down our food over half an hour after it was due to be delivered!!"

Deliveroo have not given an idea of how long the problem will take to fix.
