Calling chocoholics, creatives, or those who would simply like to do their bit for charity: Chocol'art at the movies, a charity event raising money for is being held this Friday (30th) from 7pm at The Towers Terrace, Jumeirah Emirates Towers. Founded by Mohammed Fadlallah and Ali Hashemi, Chocol'art is a CSR initiative specialising in organising events that encourage creative individuals - artists, designers, photographers, chocolatiers and so on - to participate and showcase original works, which can later be auctioned off, with proceeds going to charity. Fadlallah explains a little further: "Our aim is to build a regionally and globally recognised children's CSR brand that will look to support around 20 different children's charities over the next five years. Each year, Chocol'art will have a different theme to keep the concepts and events fresh; the theme for all the events in 2012 is 'movies' and for 2013 it will be 'vintage'." Fifty two different artists - from fashion designers to candle makers - will be taking part on Friday, with the majority of them producing original pieces especially for the event. For example, Clare Pardoe who runs , a boutique jewellery company specialising in creating custom-designed or limited-edition pieces has teamed up with chocolate company Xocolart to create a selection of Audrey Hepburn inspired edible jewellery (an example of one of her test pieces below). According to Fadlallah, Mini (one of the events sponsors), will be setting up a drive through cinema, Sephora will provide a beauty stand, there will live art, a graffiti wall, chocolate fountains and of course, a live auction.
