If costume parties and trick-of-treating are not really your thing, spend Halloween tucking into a fine-dining meal with chef Enrico Bartolini instead. Bartolini, the youngest Italian chef to earn two Michelin stars, has been overseeing operations as chief culinary adviser at Roberto's Abu Dhabi. The chef is known to make frequent visits to the Rosewood Hotel restaurant on Al Maryah Island, hosting private dinner, curating set menus, conducting cook-offs with acclaimed chefs such as Alfio Ghezzi and Roberto's executive chef Francesco Guarracino, and the like. On October 31, Bartolini will serve a five-course menu for dinner at the waterfront restaurant between 7pm and 11pm. The dishes are inspired by the various regions of Italy: Milan, Bergamo, Venice, Tuscany and Piedmont. They include: a selection of finger food or "stuzzichini"; black cabbage soup with oysters and caviar; milk and rice with wild rabbit jus and bell pepper reduction; a secondi course of steamed turbot fillet with porcini mushrooms, baby zucchini and herring caviar; and for dolci, Venetian-style chocolate, coffee and pistachio. Entitled the Five shades of Bartolini, the meal costs Dh495 per person, with a paired menu available for Dh795. Roberto's also introduced "an alternative to brunch" earlier this month to offer food "without the restrictions and pressure of brunch". What this means is that over the weekends, you can order the slow-cooked roasted octopus at 10am or the famed French tiramisu toast at 4pm, while kids under six eat for free. To book a table, call 02 627 9009 or email reservationsauh@robertos.ae. ____________________________ Read more: How Zuma Dubai has managed to stay relevant for 10 years Anissa Helou's new cookbook spans the Islamic World from North Africa to South Asia Food news: Urth and Galliard open in Dubai, Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi launches no-mobile challenge and more
