Toronto International Film Festival 2019: 54 celebrities on the red carpet

From Meryl Streep to Christian Bale, it appears every Hollywood A-lister is in Canada right now

Los Angeles might just be a skeleton city right now, judging by the amount of celebrities that have traversed the border to Canada this week.

This year's Toronto International Film Festival is in full swing, and has drawn Oscar winners aplenty to the city to celebrate the best of the industry's latest movies.

Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro, Gary Oldman and Nicole Kidman are among the star who've made appearances on the Tiff red carpet, feteing films including The Laundromat and an adaptation of The Goldfinch.

Premieres for DC origins story Joker, Taika Waititi's Jojo Rabbit and racing drama Ford v Ferrari have also taken place, attracting the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Matt Damon and Rooney Mara, who donned their black-tie best for the occasions.

The Toronto International Film Festival will run until Sunday, September 15.
