Monday night in Los Angeles was the 49th annual NAACP Image Awards, a show that honours outstanding representations of people of colour in movies, music, TV and literature (NAACP stands for the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People).

From Halle Berry in Reem Acra to Issa Rae in Marc Jacobs, scroll through the gallery above for the best red-carpet moments of the night.

On the awards front, hit horror film Get Out, popular sitcom Black-ish and A Wrinkle In Time director Ava DuVernay were the big winners. On the literary front, The Annotated African American Folktales won Outstanding Literary Work - Fiction and Stephanie Powell Watts won the debut author Outstanding Literary Work award for No One Is Coming To Save Us. Meanwhile, Bruno Mars picked up Outstanding Male Artist and Mary J Blige walked home with Outstanding Female Artist.
