Supermodel Shanina Shaik indulges in six-hour shopping spree at The Dubai Mall

The catwalk star is in town for some major retail therapy

A visit to The Dubai Mall is top of many a tourist's list when they land in Dubai, and it seems that Australian model Shanina Shaik is not immune to the mega mall's pull. This week, the 28-year-old has been shopping up a storm at the Downtown Dubai destination, taking to Instagram to document every step of her spree.

The Victoria's Secret catwalk star posted a snap from a fitting room at the mall with the caption, "Retail therapy". Also in the shot was a rail full of clothes, presumably for her to try on.

Following her shopping session, the model, whose father is Saudi-Pakistani and mother is Lithuanian-Australian, posted a pouting selfie from the backseat of a car, joking in the caption that she had "only" had "six hours of shopping".

Well, if there is anywhere to while away half a day shopping, it's at the second biggest mall on Earth.

It has been reported that Shaik is staying at the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira while in Dubai. During her stay at the hotel, she has been sharing snaps of her outfits from the marble-clad bathroom of her suite. The most recent was comprised of black jeans and a high-collared, pale taupe blouse from Orseund Iris.

It is not clear whether the model purchased any pieces by Emirati designers during the six-hour spree at The Dubai Mall. Shaik did, however, share a photo of a pair of chic green Manolo Blahnik pumps that she did buy, wearing for a night out with wide-legged faded jeans.

Shaik out and about in the UAE

We all know that a trip to the UAE isn't complete without a visit to the desert, and the 40°C-plus temperatures we've been facing don't seem to have fazed Shaik. The model ventured out into the dunes for a sunset ride, likely on quad bikes or dune buggies.

This is not the model's first time in the UAE. She visited in May 2016, and stopped by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque when she was in town.

"I love the stunning architecture especially the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque," she told The National. "The UAE is a beautiful country with beautiful people."

Shaik stopped off in the UAE capital before heading to Sydney for New York fashion house Oscar de la Renta’s show, which closed this year’s Australian Fashion Week.
