Versace's latest timepiece is an undeniable ode to its Empire range of handbags. You must have seen them – be it the array of colourful versions in the Versace boutique's window displays, or the bold, black ones in large and miniature sizes, frequently toted around by Lady Gaga and Gigi Hadid.

The label’s iconic Medusa icon protrudes from the face of the Palazzo Empire watch, making it look like it’s floating above the dial. The Versace logo is scripted at the top of the dial. The timepiece features a calfskin strap and is available in three shades: white, black or pink. The white model will be a winner among women who dedicate themselves to minimalist clothing, but opt for accessories that are both glamorous and statement-making. The black version will appeal to loyal Versace fans, who appreciate the heritage style and recurring drama that the brand’s pieces always embody. Finally, the pink model, will capture the hearts of consumers such as me, who may not particularly be fans of the Versace brand, but are nonetheless swayed by the delicate, feminine hue of pink and how it is juxtaposed so starkly with the bold, gold Versace aesthetic.

The Palazzo Empire costs Dh4,800 and will be available at Versace stores from March.
