Queen Rania of Jordan has championed a Saudi-led label that has its headquarters in Beirut in a new portrait. The royal posed for a series of intimate snaps to mark her 50th birthday, which falls on Monday, August 31. In one of the photographs, Queen Rania poses next to a teal-washed door, wearing an elegant white dress by Ashi Studio. The label, which is headquartered in Lebanon, was founded by Saudi Arabian designer Mohammed Ashi. He paid tribute to the royal as she wore his button-fronted creation. "Her Majesty Queen Rania chose to wear Ashi Studio's long-sleeved crepe gown with embroidery and button detail for her 50th birthday press release photos," the designer told his 830,000 Instagram followers. “I am very honoured Her Majesty Queen Rania chose to wear this regal dress, which was designed to radiate power. I wish her Majesty a happy birthday." The mother of four regularly supports labels from the region, having previously sported designs by Lebanon's Azzi & Osta, Georges Chakra, Hussein Bazaza and Ralph Masri. The royal has also been pictured in designers from the UAE, wearing Reemami and Bambah Boutique on occasion. Ashi Studio, which has also dressed the likes of Cardi B and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, was founded in 2007. The label most recently scored a starring role in Ellie Goulding's new music video, with the British singer-songwriter wearing a golden gown from the spring / summer 2020 collection in the clip for Love I'm Given. Ashi Studio also kitted out Beyonce for the star's recent Black is King film. The label provided the singer with a black feathered piece that "took 70 hours of work". "The look incorporated exotic bird feathers, placed one by one on the bodice for this film that has a powerful impact in the world," the brand revealed on social media.
