She starred in 2020 comedy Like a Boss, and that phrase could also describe Salma Hayek's approach to red-carpet dressing.

The Mexican actress, whose father hails from Lebanon, is known for her bold approach at awards ceremonies and premieres, with the 53-year-old never afraid to shy away from vibrant colours and structured silhouettes.

Hayek, who was nominated for an Oscar for her 2002 portrayal of artist Frida Kahlo, is also happy to keep it simple at times, with an array of sleek LBDs in her wardrobe.

The actress and producer wed Francois-Henri Pinault, chief executive of luxury group Kering, in 2009, meaning the star often has a wealth of just-off-the-catwalk looks at her fingertips.

While she often turns to perennial favourite Gucci on the red carpet, Hayek is also known to dip into the collections of Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney and Bottega Veneta.

However, the actress, who rose to fame in the 1990s with roles in From Dusk till Dawn and Desperado, hasn't always had such an A-list touch to her dressing. Hayek fell victim to the distressed jeans and embellished blouses of the early Noughties, just like the rest of us.
