Emirati label Madiyah Al Sharqi teams up with Karen Wazen for fashion collaboration

A new 28-piece collection will land later this month

We may only be a few days in, but 2021 is already off to a good sartorial start, with news that Madiyah Al Sharqi is teaming up with Karen Wazen on a new collection.

The Emirati designer and the Lebanese influencer have together created a 28-piece collection for spring / summer 2021, debuting later this month.

Think crinkled Tencel bandeau dresses with joyfully puffed sleeves, signature Al Sharqi tailored jackets with wrap belts, and floor-length bias-cut dresses and skirts cut from cupro (a delicate material made from recycled cotton, amongst other things).

There are silken oversized shirts, wide-legged trousers, cropped collared shirts and cute city shorts. Colours journey from creamy ivory to washed denim to burnt sienna, broken up with a playful lattice print in brown on white, and acres of blue tie-dye that arrives as a halter-necked maxi dress, a cowl-fronted asymmetric day dress and even a bandana.

With all the hallmarks of Madiyah Al Sharqi, plus the added playfulness of sunglasses designer Wazen, this light-hearted, summery and utterly wearable collection brings out the best of both entrepreneurs.

Madiyah Al Sharqi X Karen Wazen will launch later this month via Ounass, Farfetch and Bloomingdales.
