When exactly did Ariana Grande find her signature look? Somewhere around 2013, according to our exhaustive research.

The diminutive singer is almost as famous for her slicked-back high ponytail as she is her chart-topping hits, which include thank you, next and 7 rings.

But Grande did not start out in the pop realm. The singer, 27, first found fame aged 15 in Broadway musical 13 in 2008, before making a name for herself on Nickelodeon TV shows Victorious and Sam & Cat.

However, after releasing her debut album Yours Truly in 2013, Grande – who has an impressive vocal range of four octaves – has been focused on chart domination, garnering a Grammy Award and a number of Billboard Music Awards and American Music Awards in the process.

And, much like her CV, the star's style has evolved over the years, morphing from playful separates to sleek gowns and, more recently, embracing avant-garde silhouettes and ultra-modern fabrics.
