After seven weeks of sales, promotions and activities, the 23rd Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) is nearing a close. Not ready to bid it farewell yet? You’re in luck because the festival plans to end on a high with action-packed activities, promotions and, of course, a mega sale. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of the last few days of DSS. If you’ve been saving up for one final shopping spree, this is your chance. DSS 2020 will end with a mega sale, with numerous big brands offering discounts of 25 to 90 per cent, until Saturday, August 29. The DSS Final Sale will feature fashion houses such as Hugo Boss, Kenzo, Mulberry, Michael Kors, Aigner, Stella McCartney, BCBG Max Azria, Celine, Karl Lagerfeld and Calvin Klein. Other brands taking part include DKNY, US Polo Association, Naturalizer, Call It Spring, SuperDry, All Saints, Wrangler, Hollister and La Martina, as well as Zara Home, Bath & Body Works, Damas, Crate & Barrel, Pan Emirates and Jawhara Jewellery plus the Harvey Nichols department store in Mall of the Emirates. Looking for something exclusive? The Omega Seamaster Exclusive Boutique UAE limited-edition timepiece is available during the DSS final sale weekend. Created as a tribute to the UAE, the collector's item is available at a special Omega pop-up boutique at Mall of the Emirates for Dh28,700. City Centre Deira is inviting residents and visitors to "win back the summer" with a collection of activities. Until August 29, shoppers who spend Dh300 (and registered with the Customer Service desk) at the mall will be invited to roll a dice to win prizes such as store vouchers. The mall is also hosting summer activations including paintball and target shooting using airsoft guns and a chess tournament in partnership with Dubai Chess & Culture Club. Meanwhile, the Oppo Gaming Challenge at Mall of the Emirates will let football fans who register via the MAF Share app or spend Dh300 in the mall face off in a game of Fifa 20. The winners will play each other in a real-time match, with the first person to score three goals named the winner. Players will be able to win one of four Oppo mobile phones plus 10,000 MAF share points. Ibn Battuta Mall will be hosting some of the region’s best graffiti artists for the DSS final weekend. Head to the mall between August 27 and August 29 for a chance to see these artists put their finishing touches to a huge, colourful mural in the mall’s Egypt court. The piece, which has been taking shape throughout DSS, is the culmination of weeks of work by artists from ZeeArts, with different people adding their own touches every day of DSS. The mall is also part of the three-day mega weekend sale, with brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Nautica offering discounts. It’s also your last chance to check out the Dubai Canvas @ City Walk activation which ends on Monday, August 31. The family destination has been turned into a giant canvas, with interactive and immersive pieces with the theme “travelling through art”. Shoppers can round off the weekend with an evening at La Perle which has been hosting twice-daily shows throughout DSS. It also has special DSS combo packages starting from Dh119, which include free popcorn or nachos and soda. To make the weekend extra special, residents and visitors can opt for the DSS staycation offer at the Habtoor Palace Dubai, which includes two show tickets, popcorn or nachos and soda, plus a complimentary room and 25 per cent off at any restaurant in Al Habtoor City. Prices start from Dh438.
