Work has been completed on the first private beach for women in Abu Dhabi. The stretch is located in Al Sila City in Al Dhafrah, and is about 350 kilometres west of the main city, and 450km from Dubai. The project is being helmed by Abu Dhabi General Services Company Musanada in co-operation with Al Dhafrah Region Municipality.

Overlooking the beach, which stretches over 18,300 metres, is a built-up area of 790 metres, which includes eight utility buildings, restaurants and shops. A video released by the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office shows that the sprawling venue also includes swimming pools, sports courts, covered walkways, an amphitheatre and parking facilities.

The media office’s Twitter account further notes that: “the project … provide[s] the finest leisure services for women [and] offers privacy and comfort and is set to meet the highest international specifications.”

According to Emirates News Agency, Al Dhafra Region Municipality stated last October that the project seeks to provide the best leisure and recreational services and facilities, and fulfil the needs of community members. The National has reached out to Musanada to find out whether the beach and other facilities can be visited by the public yet.
