Summer in Abu Dhabi just got even cooler. After being closed for five months, Yas Waterworld reopened in the capital on August 4. The family friendly destination on Yas Island closed in mid-March to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The water park has reopened with safety and hygiene measures in place, such as a limited capacity of up to 30 per cent, temperature checks and mandatory face masks. Families flocked to the attraction on its opening day, with children and adults cooling off in the park's pools and rides. Scroll through the gallery above to see photos from the reopening on Yas Waterworld. The Emirati-themed park offers rides such as Al Raha River or the Amwaj wave pool and there are high-thrill rides for the adventure seekers such as the Jebel Drop or the Liwa Loop. Physical distancing on rides and at restaurants is compulsory and all visitors need to buy their tickets online before heading to the park, even those who have annual passes. Contactless payment is available throughout the park, while quick-dry face masks are given out when guests arrive. The park is open daily from 1pm to 10pm, with Mondays and Thursdays reserved for women. Prices start from Dh250 for adults, and Dh210 for junior tickets.
