Extravagant ways to celebrate Valentine's Day in Dubai

For some, Valentine's Day is the time of year to go all out to show the love of your life how much they mean. And of course, Dubai will let you do it in the most extreme ways.

We take a look at two of the emirate's most extravagant options for celebrating love this year.

If you've got a spare Dh85,000, the Fairmont Dubai's, Ultimate Valentine's is the package for you. The two-night stay begins with a stretch limousine picking you up from your house followed by a helicopter ride over Dubai. In the hotel's Imperial Suite, you will find a bouquet of 100 red roses and a set of diamond jewellery worth about Dh15,000. After being attended to by a professional make-up artist and hairstylist, you will enjoy a seven-course gourmet dinner while being serenaded by a violinist.

The next day's activities include breakfast in bed, a couple's massage, a seaplane ride and a private yacht trip.

Flowers are a staple for Valentine's Day. Red roses arriving in a Rolls-Royce? Not so much - except in Dubai. Which brings us to opulent option number two.

If you spend a minimum of Dh7,500, you have the option of paying Dh1,000 to get your flowers delivered in a Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé. Maison Des Fleurs, the florist behind the campaign, custom-makes arrangements, ranging from Dh405 for a basic bouquet to Dh71,500 for 1,081 long-life roses set within an acrylic rectangular table.
