Eva Longoria, Shilpa Shetty and Deepak Chopra to attend Global Gift Gala in Dubai

Tickets are sold out, but you can still do your bit for charity by bidding on a range of luxury items through a silent auction

The sixth edition of the Global Gift Gala will be held in Dubai on Thursday, December 13. The black-tie event typically welcomes a slew of celebrities, and this year is no different. Actress Eva Longoria and author Deepak Chopra will join Maria Bravo, founder of the Global Gift Foundation and chair of the GGG, as honorary chairs. Other special guests include Bollywood stars Shilpa Shetty and Shabana Azmi, Spanish actors Carlos Sobera and Lorena Bernal, artist Sacha Jafri, actor Gary Dourdan.

Tickets for the Grosvenor House event are sold out, but non-attendees can still place their bids for the silent auction online. The funds raised from the event will support initiatives by Dubai Cares and the Global Gift Foundation, two organisations that are working to to create positive change in the development, welfare, health and social inclusion of the vulnerable groups around the world.

On offer this year are a range of items including art, jewellery, sport memorabilia and luxury getaways (see gallery below).

Art: Bid for a custom-created artwork by British-Indian artist Sacha Jafri; a 1958 lithograph of French painter Marc Chagal's Bird; or a painting by Mexican muralist Bibiana Domit.

Fashion: On offer is a three-piece set of diamond jewellery from Maison Messika; Jean Paul Gaultier's spring-summer 2014 Haute Couture Butterfly Effect collection (valued at US$35,000); and a bespoke suit by The Visiting Tailor.

Sport memorabilia: Get a chance to own a boxing glove signed by Muhammad Ali; a cricket bat signed by both the India and Pakistan cricket teams from the 1985 B&H World Championship Final; and an opportunity to see Manchester City train, and meet the players after watching a match at Etihad Stadium.

Luxury getaways: Once-in-a-lifetime travel opportunities are on offer, including stays a private villa in Sotogrande, Spain; a 'beyond luxury' 4-night stay on Velaa Private Island in the Maldives; as well as stays at Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa Lausanne, Galle Fort Hotel in Galle, Sri Lanka, and Le Massif Hotel in the Italian ski resort of Courmayeur.
