Google Opinion Rewards has launched in the UAE. The app gives users the chance to earn Play Store credits by answering short surveys. The UAE, Poland, Chile, Hong Kong and Malaysia are the latest destinations to be added to the reward programme, which now functions in 28 countries around the world. The market-research tool is an app that allows users to earn credit by answering short surveys. These surveys take anywhere between a few seconds to a minute to fill out. For each completed survey, users can earn up to $1 (Dh3.67) – the amount paid depends upon the survey length and complexity. Users will be notified when a survey is available to complete which can be about anything from hotel or product reviews to a location-based merchant satisfaction questionnaire. Surveys are only available for a certain amount of time – usually 24 hours. Survey takers remain anonymous as no personally identifiable information is released to survey makers, unless otherwise explicitly stated at the beginning of the survey. Once the survey is completed, Google will transfer the earned funds into users PayPal accounts, these details need to be registered by users during the Google Rewards sign up process. And while it's unlikely that users can earn a living answering surveys, there is scope to build up a balance to buy things on the Google Play Store. As the biggest Android hub for games and apps, the store also offers movies, TV shows, e-books and music for non-Android users. At the time of writing, the app was not working for iOS downloads in the UAE, but was available for Android users.
