We've all had that heart-stopping moment when a waiter produces a bill and the number is much larger than anticipated. In fact, with restaurants and hotels stocking some of the best and most expensive luxury products, overspending could easily be a very "Dubai" thing to do. It looks like British DJ and producer Charlie Sloth recently discovered this when he was handed a bill for a little more than Dh1 million (Dh1,014,973 to be exact) at the hotel Five Palm Jumeirah. The British celebrity shared a photo of the bill on social media with the caption, “When flexing and showing off goes wrong…” adding the question “@thepenthousedubai do you do credit?”. In turn, The Penthouse Dubai, a rooftop lounge at Five Palm Jumeirah, has left a cheeky comment saying it does not give credit, and asked the DJ to speak to management with the hashtag #ThatsALotOfDishesToWash. The former BBC 1Xtra DJ has recently taken up residency at the rooftop spot, where he has been beating out some of his signature hip-hop beats at the venue's Saturday brunch. The British DJ travelled from London to Dubai earlier this month, and has shared various pictures and videos showing him enjoying the emirate since. The National reached out to the Five Palm Jumeirah, which has declined to comment.
