Forbes has unveiled its annual list of the world’s highest paid celebrities for 2020, and it features a collection of familiar names. While many appearing on the list may not come as a surprise, what could shock you is the hefty pay checks they're taking home. Despite any economic uncertainty brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, it looks like some celebrities are still bringing in the big bucks. In all, the celebrities earned a combined $6.1 billion (Dh22.4bn) before taxes and fees, a $200 million drop from 2019. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Kylie Jenner landed the top spot, with a whopping $590m to her name, which can be credited to selling a 51 per cent stake in her cosmetics firm in January. Kanye West came in second, with $170m, most of his earnings collected from his Yeezy sneakers deal with Adidas. His wife, Kim Kardashian West, placed 48th, bringing in $49.5m. After Jenner and West, the 10 highest paid celebrities are (in descending order): Roger Federer, Christiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Tyler Perry, Neymar, Howard Stern, Lebron James and Dwayne Johnson. Look through this photo gallery of the top 20 highest-earning celebrities of 2020: Taylor Swift, who was named 2019's highest paid celebrity, moved down to 25th place, with $63.5m. Last year she brought in $185m. British chef Gordon Ramsay, who's behind Dubai restaurants Bread Street Kitchen and Hell's Kitchen, came it at number 19, with $70m. Meanwhile, Korean boy band BTS were named as the 47th highest-paid celebrities, having grossed $50m. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar was the only Indian actor to make the cut, claiming the 52nd spot with earnings of $48.5m. The star is currently prepping for his first Amazon Prime television series, The End. DJ Khaled, whose parents are Palestinian, was named the 95th highest paid celebrity, with an income of $36.5m, presumably thanks to his 2019 album, Father of Asahd. And, finally, coming in last on the list just ahead of Angelina Jolie is Egypt's own Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's star footballer, who raked in $35.1m. 1.
