The potters often give visitors a shot at making their own handicrafts.

Pottery is one of the oldest professions in Bahrain.

Jaffar Mohd Al Shughul Pottery has preserved a lot of dying traditions by producing pottery in the same old way.

Finished products on display at the handicraft centre.

The handicraft centre, located amid 4,000 year old burial mounds, is the biggest in Bahrain.

Potters use the old-fashioned foot operated wheel and bake the finished pots in kilns built into the nearby burial mounds.

The centre creates pots and handicrafts of every size and style imaginable.
