Christie’s Dubai holds record breaking watch auction

Christie's Dubai held a sale of important watches in Dubai last night.

The sale, listed as the first of four auctions to celebrate ten years in Dubai, featured a total of 176 lots, including some rare and difficult to find pieces. It was also the largest timepiece auction to date for the auction house.

The piece that garnered the highest bid of the evening was an extremely rare 18k gold pin rectangular tourbillon chronometer 2015 wristwatch by Patek Philipe, which sold for Dh563,439. Also included was a 2009 Roger Dubuis that sold for Dh454,386.

A total of 149 lots sold, raising a staggering Dh9.74 million during the evening.
