Biz Stone, the co-founder of Twitter, will be delivering a keynote address at a technology summit in Abu Dhabi next month.
Mr Stone is expected to speak on November 14 at the inaugural "Semiconductor Vision Summit", an event aimed at discussing advanced technology and innovation hosted by the Advanced Technology Investment Company (ATIC).
For the past four years, Twitter has quickly become one of the most popular websites in the world and now counts more than 100 million users. The website was founded by Mr Stone, Jack Dorsey and Evan Williams in 2006 following a brainstorming session at a previous startup company.
"Innovation and technology are powerful tools for moving humanity forward," said Mr Stone. "Together with other attendees of the summit, I look forward to discussing a greater focus on how knowledge and compassion will play an important role in driving the future of industry around the world."
Sheikha Lubna al Qasimi, the UAE's minister of foreign trade and who was recently declared by Forbes Magazine as "the Arab World's most influential woman," will also deliver a keynote address during the summit. "We are thrilled that Biz Stone and Sheikha Lubna will be with us in Abu Dhabi at the first ATIC Semiconductor Vision Summit," said Ibrahim Ajami, the chief executive of ATIC.
"Both of them are pioneers with vision. Biz is part of an important generation of technology innovators which has changed the way in which people interact. His innovations underline the growing importance of technology and global collaboration."
