Work on Hatta Gate art project to begin in February

ABU DHABI // Work will start on the Hatta Gate public art project in February.

Part of the Dh1.3 billion Hatta Development Master Plan aimed at social and enconomic improvements with emphasis on environment-friendly tourism, the artwork will be located on the main Dubai to Hatta road.

Mattar Al Tayer, director general and chairman of the board of directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, said the RTA intends to implement a number of projects in Hatta in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development.

“Hatta Gate Project boasts of a unique design that reflects the identity of Hatta and its nature in a modern and innovative setting. The design of the Gate replicates the gorgeous and exciting topography of the area, dotted with mountains and cliffs in a creative style with successive columns of different configurations depicting the unique nature of the area.

“The vertical high shape symbolises the stiff, towering mountains of Hatta, creating unforgettable memories for visitors,” said Mr Al Tayer.

Construction on Hatta Gate will be completed within six months.

The RTA is building a road linking Dubai with Hatta via Lehbab at an estimated cost of around Dh54 million.
