SHARJAH //A women-only beach will be opened in Dibba Al Hisn on the orders of the emirate’s ruler.
Women in the east coast enclave will have a dedicated stretch of coastline where they can swim and enjoy the beach in privacy. Sharjah’s ruler, Dr Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi, ordered the beach to be open to women only during a visit to the area.
“The female section of the beach will be separated from the one dedicated to families and men and will provide the privacy needed for women of the city,” said Ali Ahmad bin Yarouf, head of the municipality council in Dibba Al Hisn.
Dr Sheikh Sultan also new announced several new projects including the construction of a bridge connecting Al Hisn island to the mainland of Dibba Al Hisn and a new heritage village to showcase the maritime history of the eastern region. An aquarium to house sea life from the Sea of Oman will also be built.
