More than 100 Emiratis selected as Abu Dhabi tourism ambassadors

ABU DHABI // More than 100 Emiratis were selected as ambassadors of the emirate to improve tourist interaction.

The Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority launched the Abu Dhabi Ambassadors programme on Wednesday as part of its Emiratisation strategy. “We have selected 106 participants who successfully passed the interview stage from over 300 applicants,” said Nasser Al Reyami, standards regulations and licensing department director at TCA Abu Dhabi.

The programme will add to their knowledge about the capital and includes hospitality, heritage and tourism workshops over three months. Subjects such as handling the media, etiquette, protocol fundamentals and organising tours with a leading company, will also be taught.

The programme includes field trips to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Al Ain oasis and will test participants before they receive the title of Abu Dhabi Ambassador.
