British Embassy issues 21,184 entry visas to Emiratis

ABU DHABI // The British Embassy issued 21,184 electronic entry visas to the UK for Emirati citizens during the last six months.

Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National, reported that the embassy received 53,208 applications through its website during this period.

Between September 26 and October 2, another 3,208 visa applications were received, while 1,184 visa waivers have been issued to Emiratis.

The waiver of electronic visa allows beneficiaries up to a six-month stay in the UK.

Applicants wishing to work or study in the UK require another electronic visa as per regular procedures.

The UK waived the visa requirement for Emirati citizens last January.
