Abu Dhabi’s growing list of attractions is set to include the world’s tallest indoor climbing wall and its widest skydiving chamber – housed in a giant futuristic multi-sided diagonal cube on Yas Island.

Developer Miral said the US$100 million “Clymb” is scheduled to open next to Yas Mall in 2018. Work is already under way and the project is 35 per cent complete as of the beginning of this month.

Zublin Construction has been appointed as the main contractor, Miral said.

The skydiving chamber will be 9.75 metres wide and the climbing venue’s highest wall will have a height of 43 metres.

The new attraction is part of the commitment “to develop and create leading destinations with the highest global standards on Yas Island that offer unique immersive and exciting experiences to everyone, as well as contribute to the development of the tourism sector in Abu Dhabi, and the UAE as a whole”, said Mohammed Al Zaabi, the chief executive of Miral

Clymb will join existing attractions Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld and will follow future attractions such as the Warner Bros theme park, which are all part of the vision to turn Yas Island into a top global destination attracting 48 million visits a year by 2022.
