House prices in Britain remain stable in February
British house price growth remained stable in February but prices fell again in London, taking the capital’s losing streak to a full year, a monthly survey of property valuers showed. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) said its house price balance held at +24, matching a revised balance for February, slightly higher than a forecast of +23 in a Reuters poll of economists.
Greece GDP stays flat for the fiscal year 2016
Greek economic growth was flat last year, the country’s statistics service Elsat said after releasing its first estimate of full-year GDP for 2016. It said GDP in volume terms and measured at constant prices was €184.5 billion (Dh715.1bn) last year, unchanged from 2015. The European Commission, in a forecast published in February, projected GDP growth of 0.3 per cent in 2016 while the IMF’s upwardly revised estimate saw GDP growth of 0.4 per cent.

American corporate bosses continue to get bigger raises than their workers. Chief executives at 42 public US companies that have filed proxy statements for fiscal 2016 saw their pay packages grow by a median of 5.5 per cent from the prior year, according to a report issued by Compensation Advisory Partners, a consulting firm. That compares with the 2.8 per cent annual increase in December from for average hourly earnings of private non-farm employees, according to data from the US labour bureau.
