Over the last year a third of UAE residents have lost mobile devices, had them stolen or badly damaged them.
According to the Kaspersky Consumer Security Risks survey the majority of people questioned - 35 per cent - said that these incidents had occurred with regards to their mobile phones.
About one quarter - 22 per cent - had irreparably damaged devices, ten per cent were lost and seven per cent stolen.
The survey also looked at the amount of personal data on people’s mobile devices, with personal photos and videos on smartphones - 82 per cent - coming out on top.
