The Ramadan phone “experience”, an Android-based app, was launched on Tuesday.
Features include location-based prayer timings, a live feed from Mecca, the full Quran with audio recitations and translations and a host of other Ramadan-themed features.
Developed by a team of designers, programmers and content producers in the UAE, Italy, India and United States, the app integrates with any Android phone or tablet.
“We should talk about this as a ‘phone experience’ rather than a simple mobile app – the difference being that it completely integrates into one’s phone and is always on,” said Andreas Roell, chief executive of Carib Publishing, a global digital media publishing company,
The Ramadan phone experience is available for download through Google Play.
